Description

This is a facsimile of a psalter (a devotional book for laypeople) that belonged to Ingeborg of Denmark. The original dates to around 1195, a few years after the start of her tumultuous marriage with Phillip II of France. The psalter contains a calendar for tracking feast days, several full-page illuminations, and the text of the Psalms. The original is housed in the Musée Condé.
